Seen from the grounds of the visitor centre. The white cabin is one of the original control cabins but is now superseded by a control room in the visitor centre. The gearing on the top is also superseded but has been retained so as not to change the appearance of the lift (this was a 1906-08 addition in any event and not part of the original lift).
