This stretch of tarmac is really no more than the pavement of Finchfield Avenue (behind, left) and the main Ringwood Road, but it is in fact a public footpath some 14 metres in length. Perhaps recent re-laying of the route, to incorporate a shared cycle path and the pedestrian crossing, has removed the sense of there being a 'footpath' here.
