The left hand plaque commemorates the opening of the walkway as part of the sea defences on 17 June 2015 by Councillor Peter Shorland (West Dorset District Council) and Alan Lovell (Wessex Regional Flood and Coastal Committee) and has the logos of West Devon DC, Dorset CC and the Environment Agency. On the right the plaque notes an award from the Institute of Civil Engineers
