The wooden door to the Western Power Distribution electricity substation faces West End near crossroads. The substation identifier is MINCHINHAMPTON THE CROSS 10272. A yellow Caution notice on the door shows the presence of SF6 (sulphur hexafluoride, an insulating gas used in high voltage systems).
