The inscription reads: In memory of Arthur James PRESS, Guard. Great Eastern Railway who died at the Norwich Hospital January 7th 1894. from injuries received in the execution of his duty at Trowse Station, January 6th 1894. Aged 36 years. This Memorial is erected by his loving wife and fellow servants of the Norfolk District. Further text is illegible. No further details of the accident could be found.
