Although Glamorgan is heavily populated, the rugged nature of its coast precluded the development of many traditional seaside resorts; Porthcawl is an exception with the full range of attractions for the visitor. Sandy Bay, seen here at its western end, is backed by the Coney Beach pleasure park.
