Viewed in May 2016. Before the 1950s this small park between St Cynog's churchyard and the River Tawe was known as Rectory Field. In July 1953, the first of the Gorsedd Stones http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/4975242 was erected in preparation for the 1954 National Eisteddfod of Wales in Ystradgynlais. Rectory Park was officially renamed Gorsedd Park in 1957.
