The path meets the road (the A809) 70 metres ahead, beside the Carbeth Inn, a public house that is marked as such ("PH") on large-scale mapping. The path is part of the John Muir Way. At the Inn, that route crosses the road, and continues on the other side of it as a recently-made path: see Image and Image
