The term 'cotton waste' is highly misleading: this is not waste to be thrown away, but in fact is highly valuable material. J.B.Baron operated a whole complex of businesses based on cotton waste. Of the original buildings, only this fine Accrington Brick warehouse survives. Baron needed a large warehouse, for trading in cotton waste, as well as using it, was an important source of revenue.
