A statue of a balding man, sits on a bench just off Gordon Square in Fort William - for West Highland Way walkers who have battled their way for 94 miles from Milngavie this is where boots can be shelved, feet rested and a final farewell can be made to this excellent trail. Of course there is always the Great Glen Way - southern terminus in the old fort, not far away.
