This seven storey block was opened in 1971 by the Rt Hon Lord Aberdare and remains one of the main units of this post war (WWII) district general hospital serving parts of North Birmingham and Staffordshire. It is now part of the Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust that includes Heartlands and Solihull hospitals and the Birmingham Chest Clinic. I was a house officer here in 1984 but can remember practically nothing about the hospital.
