Here are seen the remains of the leat which runs along the east side of Butts Beck to fill the reservoir which formerly existed to the south of Gisburn Road. This leat is wrongly described by OS as a 'mill race' which is incorrect since the leat did not (and never has) fed a water wheel directly.
