Railway arch, Belfast

This arch, at Bridge End, carries the Belfast (right) – Bangor line across what used to be one of several streets of terrace houses. Long since demolished, the site is now vacant but with an estate agent’s sign advertising a new development of apartments - now that’s a surprise!!! The height clearance sign is in imperial measurement only – an indication of just how long it is since the arch was used by vehicular traffic. Image shows the arch in May 2011.
