Point of Ayr Colliery Memorial at Ffynnongroyw

The Point of Ayr Colliery Memorial was unveiled in September 2015 to honour 120 years of mining at Ffynnongroyw. The memorial is made from the no.2 shaft from the colliery which was acquired from Greenfield Valley Heritage Park and refurbished. Point of Ayr Colliery opened in the 1880s but closed in 1996.
