The path on the right runs alongside the Coventry-Birmingham railway line to Albany Road. The stone in the foreground carries the following dedication: "This tree was planted in 1928 to the memory of David Spencer, a generous benefactor of Coventry who presented this park to the city in 1882. David Spencer born 1805 died 1888." As there is no tree immediately adjacent to the stone I assume it has been removed, unless it refers to the nearby tree to the right
