The Redcliffe Quarter of Bristol is a site for plenty of regeneration today. Historically, it was a separate district, with Bristol lying across the River Avon. As the city grew, it swallowed up Redcliffe and the sprawl of industry spread too. Having suffered significant damage in the Blitz, large parts were cleared and new, modern buildings sprang up. However, they too are being cleared for more buildings. But the old warehouses and offices are to become a more diverse mix - with an emphasis on residential rather than commercial.
