Durham Miners Gala 2007

The Durham Miners Gala is a mass celebration of the coal mining and Trade Union heritage of the North-East. It is held annually, having taken place nearly every year since 1871. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Durham_Miners'_Gala This shows Old Elvet jam packed with crowds awaiting the parade. Distinguished guests are waiting on the balcony of the County Hotel on the left side of the road.
