Fern Lea Avenue has now become the main road out of Barnoldswick for traffic going to East Lancashire - Colne, Nelson and Burnley. This is the B6383. At the traffic lights, it crosses Rainhall Road, and beyond there, it is called Essex Street. On the right in the photo. is Barnoldswick's new Library. The next building was Rainhall Road School, now closed and awaiting redevelopment. On the left at the lights, but not visible from here, is the Police Station.
