Viewed from the corner of Tunnel Terrace on Tuesday May 3rd 2016. From today, this part of Bridge Street is fenced off and closed to road traffic. For now, walkers can still use the pavement across the south side of the bridge over the South Wales main railway line near Newport station. This route is expected to be closed until late 2016. The bridge will be removed and replaced as part of the massive amount of infrastructure work needed in preparation for the electrification of the South Wales main line.
