Viewed facing north on the edge of the village. I recall reading somewhere that Palestine was developed after the Great War to provide accommodation and a living for demobilised soldiers. At that time, Palestine was high on the geo-political agenda as exemplified by the Balfour declaration. This may be how the development came by its name. The middle eastern theme is echoed in the road names such as this one.
