Most of the houses in this and the adjacent streets are empty and boarded up after years of neglect. A few were sold to the occupants, who are now faced with problems resulting from poor build quality, leaking roofs and lack of maintenance when they were owned by the council. They have been offered the chance to sell back to the council, but at a price too low for themto be able to buy again elsewhere. The homeowners are campaigning for a fair deal so that they can move on and the rebuilding of the area can proceed.
