An old bus stop sign attached to a retaining wall on the side of High Street. Northumbria, the operator referred to by the name and logo on the sign, was formed by a management buy out on deregulation of buses in the 1980s and survived until the mid 1990s when the business was bought by the Arriva group. Arriva still operate most of the major services in Northumberland, including services which use this stop.
