Opened in 1859 by the East Suffolk Railway, later part of the Great Eastern Railway, on what is today the line from Ipswich to Lowestoft. The station became a junction in 1877 when the Felixstowe Dock & Railway Company opened the line to Felixstowe, initially from terminus platforms to the far left of the image. The wooden building in the trees was part of this, now a private residence. The separate terminus was closed after just two years. View south west towards Ipswich.
