The grid reference was deduced from the images on 'Street View' and 'Grab a Grid Reference'. I was rather hoping it was a little further south to give me another personal point! The lane is on the line of a Roman Road, which is No.64 in Ivan Margary's book 'Roman Roads in Britain'. He states that traces of the agger can be seen along the lane in some places, the best being fifteen feet wide and one to two feet high.
