The main building here of 3 storeys and a crow stepped gable is the Corn Exchange of 1863 by David Cousin, in a Scottish Jacobean style and with carved ornamentation over doorways and some windows. The plainer building to the left is the library, whilst that to the right is constructed of local red sandstone.
