Mid to late 18th century Grade II Listed house, now two houses and at one time a hotel. The coach house that was behind the hotel/inn has recently been converted to a B&B. The only reference to it being an inn I can find (apart from the listing) is from an editorial in The Northern Echo in 2018 but many references to the coach house in the rear support it being a former inn. Again as far as I can determine no Masham Hotel or Inn is mentioned in directories from 1827 to 1914 and in 1890 from 8 drinking establishments, only 3 are listed as inns; Greyhound Inn, Wheatsheaf Inn and Waterloo Inn. By 1914 the Wheatsheaf has gone. It seems 4 of the others were not here leaving only the aformentioned inns and the Black Lion unaccounted for. It was reported in 1976 No.8 were given permission for a new rear entrance and windows.
