The southern end of Station Close, viewed across Old Station Road. Porthcawl railway station used to be nearby. The Porthcawl Branch Line was a victim of the Beeching cuts. Passenger services were withdrawn in September 1963. The branch line was closed when freight traffic ceased in February 1965.
