Split boulder, Summerhouse Hill

One of a number of isolated boulders scattered around the pasture on top of the hill. They were probably moved here by glacial action. This one appears to have once been a single, large block probably split by freeze-thaw action after deposition. As with most weathered limestone, it is pitted and grooved by solutional features.
