The sign primarily features the late 18th century smock-mill http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2956059 and the 19th century malt kiln http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/4895466 in the background is the church of St Mary with its stumpy bell-tower. In the village, which runs alongside the River Kennett are a number of thatched houses and cottages including the nearby Affleck Arms pub. The sign stands adjacent to the bridge featured on the sign.
