Tudorbethan, aka Mock Tudor, most easily recognised by the decorative use of black and white exterior timbering, was very much in fashion in the first half of the 20th century when much of this suburban area was being developed. See http://www.bricksandbrass.co.uk/design_history/tudorbethan_style.php for more on the style.
