Hanging from a wall bracket here. http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/4886356 The Penny Black was the world's first adhesive postage stamp used in a public postal system. It was first issued in Britain in May 1840. After little more than a year it was replaced by the Penny Red, so the Victoria depicted here is young, aged in her early twenties.
