Llangollen Canal approaches the south portal of Whitehurst Tunnel. The tunnel, which has a towpath all through it, is wide enough for one boat, and is 191 yards (about 175 metres) long. Since the 1960s, there appear to be a lot of references to this as Whitehouse Tunnel or even Whitehouses Tunnel. Maybe someone local can send me some information about this.
