Number 107 on the left was a butcher for at least 136 years before becoming a small grocers and then briefly a shop retailing shirts. Since 1990 it has been a Lebanese restaurant called Kambis though it spent a fair few years closed and being refurbished. Number 108 is one of six listed buildings on Western Road, the others being Image, Image, Image, Image and Image It was built as a residential dwelling in 1810s and had been converted into a shop by the mid 1840s occupied by a fruiterer. After a stint as a stationer and bookseller it became a chemist in 1892 and still is today being run by Gunns since 1970.
