Located on the corner of Preston Street the store spent thirty years of the 19th century as a chemist before being acquired by Hetheringtons in 1883 as part of their ladies outfitters section. They would expand into Image during the 1890s to complement their drapery part of the business occupying numbers Image and Image The business closed in 1950 and was replaced by a shoe shop until the early 1970s when number 83 was detached from 81-82, initially becoming a gown shop then, a decade as a travel agent followed by 15 years as a photographic processor and then the last ten as an acupuncturist which seems to have closed in the early part of 2016.
