Currently occupied by Superdrug who originally moved here in 1977 but moved at the beginning of the 1990s only return around 2008. The store was merged by drapers Chipperfield & Butler as they expanded from Image acquiring number 77 in 1903 and number 78 in 1907. The former had been a boot and shoe maker for a decade and bookshop for over forty years whilst the latter had been either a grocer or tea merchants from 1845. When Chipperfield & Butler moved out at the beginning of the 1950s to Image it was initially a Peter Robinson store but then converted to a Burtons (Both owned by the same company) which it remained until 1976 when Superdrug began their first occupancy.
