Preston-on-Stour church is dedicated to St Mary. The tower is late 15th century; the chancel was rebuilt from 1753, the nave's north and south windows date from 1757, and is by Edward and Thomas Woodward of Chipping Campden; it was rebuilt for James West of nearby Alscot Park. The parish of Preaton-on-Stour is just 3 miles south of Stratford-on-Avon but until 1931 it was in the county of Gloucestershire, this is probably due to it belonging to Gloucestershire Monastery.
