Decades ago there were 4 tracks into Sheffield from the south west and there was a big engine shed at Millhouses. Today there are only two tracks and a large branch of Tesco's, a church meeting hall and a number of industrial units stand on the old track bed. Any attempt to improve rail access to Sheffield from this direction is now somewhat restricted.
