Redevelopment of the former Military Academy buildings appears to be continuing. Drivers in this private residential estate are required to use a one-way traffic system, exiting via one of east side gates onto Red Lion Lane, seen in the distance. The library building (built c.1808) - with its leaded ogee-domed octagonal towers was modelled on the White Tower of the Tower of London, where the architect, Sir James Wyatt, worked in his role as Surveyor-General of the Ordnance.
