Trains no longer cross here over the Birmingham Level Main Line Canal. This structure, a former bridge pier, is a rather unexpected feature of the waterway scene. Here used to run the trains on the Harborne Railway from Monument Road to Harborne. Opened in 1874 and finally closed in 1963, some of its length is now the Harborne Walkway. Time photo taken 2.12 pm GMT (Greenwich Mean Time).
