Early on a sunny summer afternoon which was good for black-and-white photography. Cloister Court is, according to Nikolaus Pevsner, "with its brick cloister arcades and the half-timbered President's Gallery the most cheerful and perhaps the most lovable of all Cambridge courts. It is also the first in Cambridge to make use of the motif of cloister walks, a motif introduced at New College Oxford by William of Wykeham three generations earlier".
