The newest branch of the Post Office network opened, a couple of hours later than planned, a little after 3pm this sunny Wednesday afternoon. Unusually, this is a brand new branch rather than being a replacement for some recently closed office, Poundbury never having previously had a post office nearer than Dorchester town centre. The village (or suburb, whatever you care to call it) has grown considerably over the last ten years. The picture is taken an hour or so before the official opening by the mayor, hence the balloons in readiness. For a few pictures of the ceremony, see: Image Image Image
