The George in the little Sussex village of Burpham is a popular pub selling good food and drink - be warned parking can be at a premium, even though it has its own car-park. Their own website here http://www.georgeatburpham.co.uk Note: This pub was, until quite recently, known as The George & Dragon - however when the pub was bought by a number of villagers and refurbished they decided to change the name, as they say on the website: "Maintaining a connection with the past is key. However the competition is fierce and it makes total sense to include the name of the village as part of our new name for a new future." - so the mythical beast has been dropped, presumably as this would have made the name a bit of a mouthful. It is thought that the pub dates from 1736, as this is the date scratched into its brickwork; it is EH Grade II listed https://www.historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1353852
