Fly-grazing, the illegal placement of horses on open land is widespread in the Black Country. There were several here near the canal. Formerly mining and industrial land now overgrown, it is partly grassy, and partly shrubby woodland. There isn't much grass in March for this sad-looking friendly animal. Nights are frosty, and I do hope he is fed and allowed exercise daily - but I suspect not.
