The plaque, on a column which looks much older than the plaque, commemorates the centenary of the park. The text on the plaque reads: MATTHEW WHITE 1ST VISCOUNT RIDLEY PRESENTED TO THE RIDLEY PARK BY HIS SON 1909 COMMEMORATING THE CENTENARY YEAR OF RIDLEY PARK IN THE PRESENCE OF THE HON. M. W. RIDLEY AND MASTER MATTHEW RIDLEY JULY 2004
