The path, constructed in 2000, is named after Eve Black a former mayor of Blyth who died in 2007. According to a local newspaper article http://www.newspostleader.co.uk/news/local/walkway-unveiled-in-memory-of-late-borough-councillor-1-1622072 the path was named in her honour after her death.
