An East Lancashire Railway diesel locomotive (73001) reaches the southern exit of the Brooksbottoms Tunnel. The 423-yard tunnel is the second of two (the other being the Nuttall Tunnel) on the short section between Ramsbottom and Summerseat. In 2007, the Brooksbottom Tunnel was used as the setting for the armed robbery scenes in the finale https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Life_on_Mars_(UK_TV_series)#Finale of BBC One's award-winning drama series Life on Mars set in 1973.
