When the Docklands Light Railway opened in 1987 it was a much smaller and simpler set-up than it has now become. It was Britain's first railway with driverless passenger trains controlled by computer. Here one of the original cars is seen on the Delta junction just north of Canary Wharf station. This area has since been entirely remodelled and now looks completely different to this 1987 view.
