St Tarquin's Kirk

There was a kirk here, dedicated to St Tarquin or Talarican, a contemporary of Pope Gregory. It pre-dates any documentary evidence of its existence, but is well documented from the 14th century until 1804, when it was superseded by a new kirk at the other end of the village.
