Built 1862 in Italianate style and B-listed: http://portal.historic-scotland.gov.uk/hes/web/f?p=PORTAL:DESIGNATION:::::DES:LB19984 . This fine building was the one-time Aberdeen 'lunatic asylum', which was built to segregate the mentally ill (who could afford to pay) from regular patients and offered progressive treatment regimes. It was out of use in the 1990s but has been magnificently restored as 'executive' housing, although the whole site is overdeveloped.
