I couldn’t resist taking a photo when this dog appeared carrying a sizeable piece of wood on the Galashiels to Melrose cycle and walking route on the former Peebles branch railway line. I asked the walkers if it was alright to take a photograph and remarked that I wouldn’t fancy playing fetch the stick. They said the dog often carries bigger pieces of timber – sounds like the Forestry Commission could be interested!
